Side By Side is more than a fund raiser.  It is a celebration of what God is doing in Portland through the people of God.

The First Annual Side by Side event will linger in our memory for years to come.  Over four hundred people came together for the celebration -- 300 guests and 100 volunteers -- a majority of the volunteers where residents of Portland who wanted to host the event and say thank you to our donors.  The event was held in the 1800 building, which is still under renovation and raised over $100,000. 

We laughed and cried tears of Joy with James Duke who helped tell the Portland Promise story and its positive effect on his life.  We honored two special volunteers who have walked “side by side” with us to help make the Portland Promise Center what it is today.  The Portland Promise Center will always be indebted to these special volunteers:  Jim Tennill and the late John Bock.
