Resource Development Positions with the Portland Promise Center

The Portland Promise Center - a Christian Community Development organization located in Louisville, Kentucky - is seeking full-time and part-time persons to provide guidance in key resource development areas of the organization. JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES: For Personnel Working in the Resource Development Office

PURPOSE:
The Resource Development Office will assist the Executive Director, other staff, volunteers and the Board of Directors in our fundraising endeavors. The Portland Promise Center values close relationships and works hard to cultivate a high level of respect within the donor community. Working in partnership with the Executive Director, the Resource Development Office will work to turn these relationships into funding opportunities. Personnel working in the Resource Development Office will assist in developing fundraising strategies and proposals, and subsequently will oversee donor follow-ups. Major donors are a key area for fundraising growth; therefore a donor recognition and cultivation program is a priority area to be developed and implemented.

ACCOUNTABLE TO AND UNDER THE DIRECTION OF:
Executive Director

WORK PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS FOR EVALUATION:

  • Oversee day-to-day administration of capital campaign.
  • Take the lead in scheduling Capital Campaign Committee meetings, taking minutes, preparing solicitation packets, and providing other information to board and steering committee members on an as-needed basis. 
  • Manage database of donors and their relationship with the organization.
  • Process contribution thank-you letters.
  • Provide leadership in planning/coordinating donor benefits and recognition event.
  • Coordinate ongoing major donor lunches and building tours. Work with other staff to set-up and break-down for tours, meetings and lunches, as well as ordering meals and preparing snacks for any tours, meetings and lunches.
  • Oversee grant writing system working with consultants and appropriate staff for the selection, writing and management of grants.
  • Oversee communication systems that inform our donor community: i.e., news letter, web site, special mailings.

RESPONSIBILITIES COORDINATED FOR OUT-SOURCING:

  • Coordinate and execute all Capital Campaign mailings
  • Grant-writing 
  • Layout of newsletter, special mailings and brochures.
