Our students are dreaming about going to college. Portland Promise Center has three college scholarship endowment funds you can invest in to help make that dream a reality.

Community Foundation of Louisville -
Portland Promise Scholarship Fund

Scholarships from this fund are awarded to students who have participated in the Portland Promise Center College Connection Program. Visit: www.cflouisville.org.

United Methodist Higher Education Foundation -
Portland Promise Center Scholarship Endowment

Scholarships from this fund are awarded to Portland Promise Center students who plan to attend a United Methodist College. Visit: www.umhef.org/give.php.

Kentucky United Methodist Foundation -
Portland Promise Center Endowed Scholarship Fund

Scholarships from this fund are awarded to students who have participated in
Portland Promise Center programs during their high school career and meet application guidelines. Visit: ?

Financial contributions to one of these endowments will be an on-going investment in the lives of young people for years to come.

You can send your gift directly to the foundation of your choice or to the Portland Promise Center designating the fund you would like to support. Click Donate Now and then select program designation.

Summer is always a time of new experiences and adventure for the children and youth who attend the Portland Promise Center.  This summer is no exception.  We kicked off our summer program this year by taking twenty teenagers and eighteen elementary age children to summer camp.  The teenagers went to a camp at Johnson Creek and the Children went to Camp Loucon.  All of them came home with memories that will last a lifetime. 

On behalf of these children we want to thank our donors who contributed to the 2009 Campership program.  Your financial support helps the Portland Promise Center provide formative experiences for the children and youth who live in our neighborhood.  We believe that investing in the lives of our children is the best way to address the issues that face our neighborhood.  Our children will make a positive difference in our neighborhood as they grow into godly leaders.

The Portland Promise Center is grateful for the gifts we receive from donors who make their contributions in honor of a friend or in memory of a loved one. GoodSearch is one of the easiest ways you can raise money for the Portland Promise Center. GoodSearch is another search engine, like google, but the difference is, everytime you search with GoodSearch you raise money for the Center. There are several easy ways to use GoodSearch to search the web. First you can just use the form below. You can also click here and download the Portland Proomise Center's GoodSearch toolbar, which will allow you to search wherever you are on the web. Finally you can set the GoodSearch website (www.GoodSearch.com) as your homepage so whenever you open up your web browser, it's right there for you to search from. Make sure though if you set GoodSearch as your homepage you put Portland Promise Center into the field where it asks you to designate what charity you're raising money for, to make sure the money comes to us.

Another feature of GoodSearch is called GoodShop! Do you travel a lot, do a lot of your shopping on-line? Well this is a great way to keep doing what your doing, and raise money for the Promise Center all at the same time. Thousands of on-line stores, from Amazon to hotels.com to Best Buy, have partnered with GoodShop to donate a portion of whatever you spend on-line, to the non-profit you select. Like GoodSearch there are a couple ways to use GoodShop. The easiest way is to go here and download the same toolbar mentioned above. Aside from allowing you to search GoodSearch, this toolbar also will automatically recognize when you go to a partnering GoodShop website, and donate money to the center without any extra work on your part. If you don't want to download the toolbar it's a little bit more work, but still just as easy. Simply go to GoodShop's website (www.GoodShop.com) and search through the retailer's listed there to go to the site you are trying to reach. For example, if you want to buy something off Amazon, go to GoodShop, search for Amazon, and then click on the link in GoodShop to take you to the Amazon site, this will link Amazon and GoodShop, allowing a portion of the money from what you buy to come to the Center.
