
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program assists low-income people in filing their taxes at no charge with the assistance of trained volunteers. The program provides an enormous service to our community by helping our
neighbors avoid predatory tax preparation services and allowing those who file to capitalize on benefits such as the
Earned Income Tax Credit. The VITA program is a collaboration between the Portland Promise Center and the Louisville
Over $5 million dollars in tax returns has come back to the community during the time this program has been in existence at the Portland Promise Center. Given its success, our VITA program is being used as a national model.

Please be sure to bring a valid ID, Social Security card, W-2 Statements, and any other relevant tax information. For direct deposit of tax returns, please bring your bank routing number and account number. |
